We will then focus our discussion on how their experiences can impact the student they are now in contrast to their service. You will learn more about their primary challenges and needs as well as the skills they bring to the classroom. We will conclude with a discussion on some best practices when working with student veterans.

Inside the Locker Room: Tracking Trends of Athletic Academic Advising

Description: During this session, we will explore the ever-changing landscape of college athletics. Join us to discuss how this impacts our student-athletes, the Student-Athlete Academic Support Services (SAASS) staff, and the VT advising community. We will spend time focusing on the impacts of the NCAA transfer portal and academic eligibility. This session will also include tours of the Quillen Family Academic Center (SAASS Office).
