Crisis Management in Higher Education

Recognizing that academic advisors are usually not trained mental health counselors, they are often still a "first stop" for students experiencing distressing situations. Dr. Adams will discuss crisis management in higher education with the goal of helping advisors to feel comfortable navigating these initial conversations.
Living Learning Programs and the new CID

Format: Hybrid - The 2:00 – 3:00 PM informational hour will be offered via Zoom and in-person at the Creativity and Innovation District LLP, Room 104. An RSVP will be sent closer to the date as the in-person space will be limited to 24 people.

With a lecture followed by an optional tour of the new Creativity and Innovation District building, this meeting will give advisors the opportunity to learn more about some of the LLPs on campus, the benefits of being in an LLP, and how advisors can play a role in making students aware of these opportunities.
Please note: The presenters are most comfortable with and interested in presenting this session in-person. However, to increase accessibility, we invite you to join via Zoom and we will record this session as we are able. If you join via Zoom, your experience will be different from those who attend in-person.
